My name is Jessica Dewey Abbott and I am a formally trained End-of-Life doula, Birth and Postpartum doula serving in Vermont (and beyond. Read about my Digital Doula services here.) My training includes University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine EOL doula professional program. I am also a Reiki practitioner, and have specialized training (with The Sanctuary Healing Arts in Amherst, MA) in providing Reiki energy medicine at End-of-Life.
My firstborn, Samuel, was born and died on the same day in 2008. That experience is what led me to this work. For more than ten years since my loss, I’ve supported others on their journeys through birth, death and loss in various roles. I was a director of Share Southern Vermont, a chapter of a national pregnancy & infant loss support organization. I am a parent advocate and bereavement support group facilitator. I am also a trained birth and postpartum doula who accompanies families through all stages of their loss journey.
I am a Reiki master and have specialized training in providing Reiki energy medicine at end of life. My experience, combined with my ongoing education allow me to be a source of evidence-based information and non-judgmental, unwavering support.
I am passionate about helping others through transition and I’m equally as passionate about reclaiming birth and death as the natural, sacred processes that they are.
